New Year’s Eve in Paris: 2010 Will Be HUGE!

January 1, 2010

I decided to take a trip to Paris for the 2010 New Year’s Eve celebration.  Why did I do this?  Because 2009 was an amazing year for me and I wanted to take some time to appreciate it.  I feel it’s good to balance work and play in our lives, don’t you?

I will be starting my next book (more details to come), posting everyday in January on a number of various topics, doing about 10 guest posts in January as well, and traveling Europe to prepare for all the good to come in the following year.

Did you achieve everything you wanted to in 2009?  If so, what was it, and what is the biggest thing you would like to achieve in 2010?  Please share below, and I look forward to watching your success in the following months!

Meeting Incredible people. Being able to talk with my authors of the books I am reading. Following them Social Media has really changed my views on how close we all are. The world has become very flat! Goals 2010: To actually write down and accomplish my goals for 2010.

Bob, let me know when you write them down so I can track them when you achieve them all :)

Living my passion by graduating from the fall class of 2009 BIKRAM yoga teacher training and relocating to sunny California from Philly! My goal for 2010 is to keep on “livin the dream!”

Hi Lewis,

Some of my goals for 2010:
Obtain meaningful worthwhile employment (any suggestions or advice is appreciated)
Continue to network and meet interesting and thought provoking people.
Continue to feed my mind by reading outstanding, thought-provoking books.
Help people think about the world differently by sharing information, insight, and ideas on my blog

Hi Bob,

Being able to communicate with the authors of books you read is indeed cool! In my opinion, social media definitely is making the world a smaller place. I still enjoy the face-to-face meetings, but when the people are live in another state or even a different continent, being able to communicate is awesome!

Hey Lewis,
Looks like you're having a blast in Paris..
2009 was a year of transformation for me …MKELive really getting off the ground and it has opened my eyes to the possibilities of what it can become, meeting some awesome people all over the country through LinkedIn and Twitter, and having a stronger focus on health.

Now for 2010 – This is my year and I am going to CRUSH IT! – so many things are aligning with the right contacts, mentors, and passion for what I am doing .. I find it hard to sleep at night..Also I have a laser focus on health and fitness this year starting with a 60 day Bikram yoga challenge (today is day 5) and running my first marathon this year.

Meghann – I just started Bikram yoga here in Milwaukee and totally love it – I am sure you will do great as a teacher.

Hi Lewis,
Looks like you are having a blast in Paris. Enjoy every minute of your success! The best part for me in 2009 was meeting an incredible new group of people including you. Learning and growing both personally and professionally. I am looking forward to applying it all in 2010 and rockin it. Have a fabulous month and can't wait to hear about it.

Meghan… If I didn't know any better, I'd say you have heard me say that phrase a few times before huh? :)

Love to hear about your passion with BIKRAM as it was something that helped me out for a while in 2009 as well. I have moved more towards other workouts, but may go back to BIKRAM at some point. Can't wait to hear all about your move, and you living the dream!

What type of job are you looking for Jim?

lewishowes January 1, 2010 at 9:27 pm

Katie, I hope you keep track of your progress during the 60 day yoga challenge, as I would love to hear about the results when you are done. Also, we have already talked about how much you are going to kill it this year, and I look forward to helping you do that in any way! Really excited for all of the good you have going on.

Kim, you are too kind. It has been a pleasure getting to know you as well, and I look forward to seeing you many more times during my trips to St. Louis this year :)

Thanks Katie, It's great that you are practicing in Milwaukee-its tough, but best to keep it up on a regular basis! Happy New Year :)

Hi Lewis! Thanks….haha, yeah, i think i got those phrases from you! :) Good phrases. Why did you start Bikram yoga, was it because of your wrist injury?

Happy New Year and have fun in Paris! Oh—and get back to the yoga room–i know for certain there are studios in France, because there were a few people from France in my training. Meghann

2009 has been the best year of my life – I met some fab people at SOBCon, BlogWorld Expo, Social Media Club & Tweetups, launched a business in May and I'm already profitable (yippee!) and started taking jazz singing lessons. It's all upward bound so in 2010 I'm going to continue plus do some major social media partnerships, public speaking and record a jazz album.

Life is so good! Have fun in Europe,

Julie

My biggest accomplishments in 2009 were: (1) I powerfully chose to eat more raw foods and less cooked foods; (2) lost 15 pounds and and now see how I can continue to lose weight and keep it off; (3) both the insurance agents I provide sales support for had blowout production years, and (4) I structured my life to include rest and meditation.

In 2010 I will (1) lose 10 more pounds, (2) continue learning about and choosing healthier alternatives in eating, (3) exercise at least 3 times a week regularly, (4) run or walk five 5-K or 10-K events, (5) finish a book I am writing so that more people are in safe and nurturing homes, (6) find my half brother who was put up for adoption in 1942 before I was born, (7) both my bosses will double their production, (8) and my income will double also.

Lewis – I enjoy reading your blurbs… thanks for your insights.

In 2009 I got another year closer to finishing my MBA, made some amazing new friends and honed in on what the next step in my career path looks like. In 2010, I want to obtain a job in sports where I get to use my relationship-building skills along with my extensive experience in event operations.
