What is Your Biggest LinkedIn Success?

in LinkedIn

I’m a big fan of LinkedIn (if you didn’t already know) and I get asked a ton of LinkedIn questions.  I also receive a number personal emails from professionals who see a tremendous amount of success while on the worlds largest professional networking website.

However, most of these success stories come through email and I’d like these stories to be shared with the world.

This is your opportunity to showcase how successful you have been on LinkedIn, or share one instance where LinkedIn has helped your career or business.

Please take a moment to write in the comments below what your biggest success story is on LinkedIn.

If you got a job, generated more leads, made a huge sale, got a referral, sold tickets to an event, drove traffic to your site, built a big LinkedIn group, or did anything else on LinkedIn to help you in your business or career then please share.

I look forward to hearing about your success stories so please take a moment to share them below so others may see how great of a site LinkedIn really is.

I got to the top of linkedin in my nieche of Conscious Parenting. Also, got invited to host an article of mine on a massive australian website, (driving big traffic to my site). Also started a group which is going well. and I only started on linkedin 2 weeks ago... so hopefully the future holds more! :)

Hi Lewis,
I was able to build a local LinkedIn group of 1700 in a years time. This has led me meeting tons of people locally that has resulted in many opportunities to expand my business nationwide.
Hope this helps,

Lewis - with your help I was able to get to the top of LinkedIn searches for my key terms. Because of that my profile is viewed more often and I have received invitations to connect from key influencers and have received consulting requests and joint venture requests from my network. I know I'm only doing 10% of what I could be doing - you are the MASTER of Linked In my friend!

When I first signed up for LinkedIn I was very ambivalent as to what it could do for my business. In fact in reality I discarded it for a few years.

I then took on a new client - Will Kintish - who is a professional LinkedIn trainer here in the UK. As a new client I thought that I'd better read up a little on what he does so I bought your "LinkedWorking" book and that, coupled with attending his seminars, has totally transformed both my business and my life.

LinkedIn - and the meetings / discussions that eminate through the way it works - is now our main source of leads and converted business. After being personally recommended by someone, the conversion rates are so high it has meant that I have been able to cancel all of our PPC campaigns (saving a considerable amount per year).

As an organisation we have never been busier and I'm pleased to say that this is transferring into significant growth of both sales and profits.

Without doubt - LinkedIn is changing my life on a daily basis.

I'll be moving into a new role next week, and I'll be using LinkedIn to connect with other companies in the same industry and also position us as subject matter experts in the field of service learning in relevant groups and also in the Answers area.

Hi Lewis!
Well, um, a few months ago, I deleted my LinkedIn account because I didn't think there was any value in it for me. Then, Elena Verlee told me how fabulous you are and how LinkedIn helped her with her consulting/coaching business - so I just opened a NEW LinkedIn account.

After just a week or so of having a new LinkedIn account, I've begun seeing LinkedIn in a whole new light andlook forward to squeezing every last bit of rocket sauce out of it. Especially after reading your ebook. ;)

Thanks, Lewis!
Heather

It's a great book, and well worth the read. Lewis, if I win, I'll give it away on my blog. :)

Great way to network with colleagues and collaborate on best practices.

Wow, you all are amazing! If you left your email in the name field then I'll send you your ebook shortly, and I'll reply to some of these here soon. Such great stuff, than you so much!

I guess I'm not successful on linked in either, but hoping to become successful here in the near future with your help???

LinkedIn is a great platform for B2B marketers like me, I'm just a start up and found it really useful to connect with industry professionals of Pakistan.

I also love LinkedIn Groups & Questions Answers features. It helps me to be of value for many potential clients.

Linked in a game changer! Thanks Lewis!

My biggest LI successes include: Tracking who I network with, seeing how fast my professional network is growing and gathering client recommendations.

I currently have 3 Great Job Offers Via Linkedin, My Profile is 100% complete is because of Lewis Howes Training. People see my regular updates on my Blog & Twitter which is redirected to Linkedin , I share some files in Boxnet files. Its all Happening because of you .So Thank You for this.

Leaving BBY corp hq and now running my own business, the people I still maintain relationships continue to make my company successful and agile.

Ok, confession time - I am TERRIBLE at using LinkedIn. I don't use it, because I haven't dedicated the time to figuring out how to put it to use for my business(es).

Which reminds me, I need to add your book to my wish list... :)

Annie, you need to step it up on LinkedIn asap!!! It's a game changer for business for sure!

I know I know, I'll work on it...promise!

I love the fact that on LinkedIn groups, I have access to professionals that are all willing to be my focus group! I asked a question about how they would approach a difficult campaign and have already been receiving some great feedback. It is like a built in brainstorming team. Sometimes it is much easier to think outside the box for a project that isn't yours because you are already out of the box! I love LinkedIn!

I've found a lot of new brands in my industry for the first time by doing keyword searches on LinkedIn and finding owners and employees. I currently spend most of my time on Twitter, and some on Facebook but plan to spend more on LinkedIn going forward.

LinkedIn is just recently becoming an integral part of our company's engagement strategy. We are currently going through training and trying to use it as much as possible but wisely. Your session at SMSS10 was a great intro for us!

I am looking forward to learning ways in which I can have a LinkedIn success story! I want to learn how to use LinkedIn as a new business lead generator.

I work for a firm who is considering utilizing LinkedIn for our clients. Lewis Howe's book "LinkedWorking" was immense help in our strategizing ways to make LinkedIn a success for our clients. In the coming months we'll be using our Action Plan to track the ROI - I'm sure we'll have a success story then! I look forward to hearing anything Lewis has to say!

Although I have been a member of LinkedIn for several years, I am still trying to get an understanding of how to best utilize the site. My "success story" is that I use LinkedIn to maintain relationships/follow people that I have met through conferences, Twitter, etc.

I see LinkedIn as an extension of our firm's thought leadership strategy. In addition to a LinkedIn group, I think using the personal "update" function on a regular basis has helped reach an audience that isn't usually on Twitter and doesn't use Facebook for business. Thanks for all your good work on LinkedIn!

I've been using LinkedIn to gather interest in a new business center I am opening in coming months. I created a group for individuals interested in using the center to share ideas and provide feedback.

I'm normally a pretty introverted person by nature but Linkedin has helped me reestablish old networks, meet new clients and partners and keep up to date on what's happening with my network. All without the fake schmoozing of some networking events.

I have been using LinkedIn as the primary online presence for a professional networking group that I started with a good friend of mine. We use the Events page as well as the Group functions to keep people informed and up-to-date.

I have close to 200 contacts on LinkedIn but haven't done much with it so I don't really have a success story to tell. Once I read your book, I'm sure I'll have many so thanks for the offer ;) @TiaSparkles

I have developed my social presence around LinkedIN, the key benefit for me is my continuing visibility to the wider market. This has allowed me to be found by people who are now influencer's, even decision makers with past or future clients.

Learning new skills and trends via relevant groups your interested in which may not be your given industry.

I've been on LinkedIn for a while, and like Janet, I haven't been using it to its full potential until I started following Lewis on Twitter. :)

I'm still getting the hang of LinkedIn, and delving into some of the more intermediate techniques. But what I've noticed that ever since I have started to actively and strategically use some of the features on LinkedIn, I've had more people outside of my network reach out to connect with me. I've had out of the blue messages sent to my inbox that prompted lovely conversations with other business professionals around the world.

And, because I'm now playing around in some of the groups and providing quality insights and thoughts (just for it's own sake) someone did contact me all the way from Columbia for a possible copywriting/marketing job because he thought me and my business stood out in the groups. :) So hooray for LinkedIn!

LinkedIn has allowed me many opportunities to network and interact with tons of resources. As I am currently completing my graduate program and preparing to enter the workforce, I've been able to contact and really pick the brains of some great professional fonts of knowledge and experience. LinkedIn, therefore, has contributed to making me an even more marketable job candidate and increasing my potential for success as an executive in the entertainment industry. Next goal: using LinkedIn to secure my first post-graduate position! :)

Awesome stuff Marcus!

I've attended Lewis's webinars and used his hints to build my profile and extend my network.

I have generated many leads through the Answers section of LinkedIn. It's amazing how much influence you can have by just listening and adding some valuable input! 2 thumbs up for this platform.

Connecting to other connectors!

My biggest success was to become known in my city as a social network enthusiast. All of this thanks to your tips. Because of this, new job oportunities come to me without doing a big effort.

Hi Lewis - I've been on LinkedIn for a few years now but have really focused on the site over the past year and half. I've seen more value out of using LinkedIn now then I ever have (over Twitter & Facebook combined). I've met many interesting people and have grown my contact list over +1000 connections. I've actually already read your book and found tons of great information while reading it.

I've gotten some clients and contracts out of using LinkedIn but the true value and success for me is just meeting many interesting people, helping answer their questions and just as well, they help answer my questions. I've learned a ton using LinkedIN and find value in using it everyday!

I am a true fan of the power of LinkedIn, it has enabled me to not only increase my networking abilities it has been an invaluable tool to find the correct HR contacts for companies that I have interest in working with or for.

I've gotten hooked up through Linkedin with a group of retired businessmen who counsel small business owners on how to best grow their business. I collaborate with them on how to counsel their clients on integrating social media into their business plans, but the joke's on them, I've got literally hundreds of years of successful business years at my fingertips who are taking me under their wing to give me a better education. It couldn't have happened without Linkedin networking, and disagreeing with one person in the group on one of his group posts.

For me, it's mostly been adding connections and networking towards my work and writing in the sports world. I have recently also received messages from what I feel to be two major connections in the sports world, one who has had positions within multiple MLB teams/organizations and another who touched base regarding a graduate degree in sports management.

Lewis, I have managed to use your ideas to better inform people about what I do and how I can be contacted.
