Nick Pitera is a YouTube Celebrity.

However, being a YouTube sensation only his part time gig.

You see, Nick works full time at Pixar, but his passion is singing.

I was attracted to Nick for two main reasons:

  1. His Unique Talent (watch the video below to see)
  2. His Passion for his Talent

He has a unique singing talent that has gained a multitude of media attention including being on the Ellen Degeneres Show… TWICE!

Nick also has over 80 million video views, but that isn’t what’s most unique about him.

He does something special with his voice that no one is really doing (and he often sees criticism for showcasing it).

His critics don’t stop him, however, as he has bigger goals in mind and his consistent action to produce more YouTube videos with the music he loves is taking him to higher places.

Back in 2003 I did something that inspired me.

I created my “Leaders Compass“.

You see, it was one of the few classes that I actually was interested in (my college days had one focus – sports – school didn’t matter at the time).

Leadership.

This was the one of the classes I actually showed up on time for and did my homework.

Lee Ellis, the current Athletic Director, was my professor.  And the leadership principles we talked about made me want to learn more…

More about great leaders and what it really takes to be a leader.

In this class one of the assignments was to create our own “Leaders Compass“.

It’s a simple document you create that helps you mold your thoughts into who you really are as a leader.

The premise is to write down who you are, what you believe and what you value.

I sent a copy of my Leaders Compass to my sister Heidi a few years ago.  I realized I had somehow lost it so I was glad she still had it and emailed it back to me.

I’m in love with Video Sales Letters.

Why?

They do a few great things better than “normal” sales letters… like

  1. Get your message across better than text or audio.
  2. Educate your target audience more visually.
  3. Build trust and a connection with potential customers
  4. Convert better than “normal” sales letters.

There are a number of reasons why they are great, but these are a few.

I’ve created two video sales letters so far and have been blown away with the results.

There are obvious results in terms of increasing my own sales, but also by being able to educate my audience better through video as well.
