How You Can Become A Millionaire

WHAT’S HOLDING YOU BACK FROM KNOWING YOU’RE WORTH IT?

Do you ever struggle with talking about money?

We all have a fear of talking about money. But guess what? We all need money, and there should be no shame in asking the right questions and getting paid for what you deserve.

Money is a sensitive subject for some people. I think that’s partly because we all have different thoughts on it and how it should be used. It can bring up some pretty intense conversations, but our guest today will share her positive perspective about money that will make you feel comfortable talking about it.

Friends, I’m so honored to have Rachel Rodgers on The School of Greatness. She is the founder of Hello Seven, a multi-million dollar company that teaches you how to earn more money and build wealth. In this episode, we discuss how to feel worthy if you’re going through a difficult financial situation, how everyone can become a millionaire and the fastest way to do it, why it’s so difficult for people to be transparent about money, and so much more!

It’s such a powerful conversation that I had to break it up into two parts. This is part one, so make sure to check out part two of our conversation as well. So buckle up, get ready to take notes, and let the class begin.

Who Is Rachel Rodgers?

As the founder and CEO of Hello Seven, Rachel Rodgers empowers women how to build wealth and earn more money. Her mission is to teach women, especially women of color, how to get rid of financial stress and end the cycle of under-earning and overworking for good.

Rachel has been featured in several well-respected media platforms like Forbes, Cosmopolitan, NBC News, Business Insider, CNBC, Fast Company, and The Washington Post. Every week, she reaches out to more than 50,000 women through her podcast and blog, providing guidance on how to work smarter, increase income, and take charge of their financial situation.

Aside from being a CEO, Rachel is also an attorney, a business coach, a working mother, a self-made millionaire, and author of the book, We Should All Be Millionaires, where she teaches how to succeed financially in life in spite of the very challenging obstacles along the path.

Sometimes, when we’re in the midst of a difficult financial situation, we may feel like we are not good enough for something, especially when our bank account doesn’t show our value. But Rachel has some valuable advice on how we can feel worthy even when we’re broke.

How to Feel Worthy When We Are Broke

If you’re going through a difficult financial situation, it may seem impossible to feel worthy. You might be struggling to maintain your self-confidence and live up to societal expectations. But with the right mindset, there are ways you can start feeling good about yourself again, and Rachel has some tips for overcoming feelings of inadequacy when money gets tight.

“You have to recognize that you are inherently worthy. I was just as valuable as I am today 15 years ago … or 20 years ago.” – Rachel Rodgers

So often we don’t realize our own worthiness as human beings until later on in life when everything falls into place perfectly. The world is not always going to tell you that, but it’s true. You may feel like an outcast in school or work like your ideas aren’t good enough for people to listen to, or that you’re just not good enough in general. But these are false ideas! You have intrinsic value, and there are ways you can recognize what makes yourself valuable even when the rest of the world doesn’t seem to agree with you. The best way to change that mindset is to surround yourself with the right people.

“I think it’s the environment, … like starting to spend time with people who have confidence and belief in themselves. … What they saw in me, … [and] realizing what other people see in me that I don’t see in myself — you need that reflection back.” – Rachel Rodgers

It’s easy to get caught up in your own world and forget how much time you spend with yourself. The more you push people away, the more you’re left with yourself. Whether it’s an introverted personality or a fear of rejection, there are many reasons why people choose not to reach out and make friends. It doesn’t have to be that way! You can take small steps to change your life by spending time with those who believe in themselves and encourage you to do the same.

“I’ve been spending time in LA this week with black women entrepreneurs that I talk to on Twitter all the time and listen to the way that they will hype [me] up. We hype each other up, and that’s so important. … So, I think we need that in our lives, and we have to put ourselves out there, be a friend first, and then you’ll find that squad, and you’ll start to create that community around yourself. … There’s no way you can’t believe [in yourself] when you’re surrounded by people who are constantly reflecting it back to you.” – Rachel Rodgers

It’s not every day that you see someone who is genuinely happy, positive, and excited about life. We all have our days where we are feeling down or just don’t feel like doing anything. It’s hard not to fall into a slump when everyone around you is constantly telling you, “You can’t do it” or, “It’s impossible.” But what if there was a group of people who surrounded themselves with positivity, making that their reality? You will greatly benefit from a community that hypes each other up making it easier for you to achieve your dreams and become a millionaire.

“When you can get comfortable with rejection you become free.” @RachRodgersEsq

The Fastest Way to Become a Millionaire

How do millionaires amass their wealth and build successful companies? They are not always born with a silver spoon in their mouth. They work hard for what they have, and it isn’t easy. But if you love what you do, find your passion, and start working toward something bigger than yourself, the million dollars will come.

“I don’t believe that we should choose our path based on what industry is hot right now. … I think what’s going to make you the most money the fastest is the thing that you’re willing to consistently do, and that’s usually connected to something that we actually care about and are interested enough in.” – Rachel Rodgers

In today’s world, there’s a lot of noise going on. There are new trends popping up all the time, and sometimes we are drawn into hopping on the bandwagon of what’s hot in the market today, even if we are unsure if it’s worth the investment in time and money. Although there are times it works, when there’s a lack of passion and dedication, success won’t last long.

“I think sometimes we’re like, ‘Oh, this is hot, or this is a hot idea. We should jump on that.’ And it’s like, you could, and I’m not saying that won’t work. But I think the way that I’ve been most consistent is if I’m doing the kind of work that I enjoy, that I believe in, where I feel like I’m making a difference, and where I’m having fun.” – Rachel Rodgers

When you do something that you love, it’s not work. When you’re doing what brings you joy and happiness, the journey to success becomes manageable and easier, and the money will follow.

“So find that thing that you’re willing to do for 10 years [or so]. … When I graduated from law school, I started a law practice because I knew I didn’t want any of the jobs that I was being offered at these firms or at nonprofits. I was just like, … ‘I’m going to go do my own thing.’ So, I started my own practice. Law wasn’t it for me — that wasn’t my thing. But through doing that, I discovered that I really love running a business, and I’m actually good at it.” – Rachel Rodgers

Everyone has an interest that they want to pursue, but not everyone is willing to put in the work necessary to succeed. Unfortunately, most people are too scared or intimidated by the immense amount of information available about their desired pursuit. But all it takes is a little bit of effort and you’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish!

“I think there was advice by Denzel Washington when they asked him, ‘What would you advise young actors?’ And he said, ‘Act right. Just get out there and do it.’ And so, I think that what you have to do — just pick something and do it, and through that, you’re going to learn what you do.” – Rachel Rodgers

We all have to start somewhere. It takes time to develop skills and become an expert in your field, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. Whether you’re trying to break the mold of your own limiting beliefs or get out of a rut, it can be difficult. But with some determination and willingness to try something new, there is no limit on what you can achieve. So just go for it!
